Painted in Roses

A mod adding Roses and Ink to Minecraft. Lost and forgotten in the past, now weaponized for a soiled future.

Painted in Roses adds back the Rose, which you can use to craft rose themed weapons. These new weapons can not only be used in combat, but as utility tools.

This mod is greatly inspired by RAT's Defile and Arsenal.

Features

Items / Blocks:

• Rose
  • Used to craft many of the items in this mod
  • Found in most biomes
  • Can be used to make red dye and tainted roses
• Tainted Rose
  • Alternative to the rose, and is used to make many of the ink parts of the mod
• Tainted Ink
  • Block that slows entities that walk on it
• Rose Ink
  • Burgundy version of Tainted Ink
• Tainted Ink Block
  • A full tainted ink block
• Flower Crowns
  • With roses, you can create flower crowns, they're purely cosmetic
    • Petal Rose Flower Crown
    • Wild Rose Flower Crown
• Rose Scythes
  • When holding, a rose bar appears. This bar *increases everytime you hit an entity with it
    • Each hit fills the bar
    • When full, the next hit marks the target, trapping them in place and dealing damage over time
    • The bar then depletes
  • Has a tainted rose variant
  • Can be used as a hoe
  • Killed entities die into roses
• Rose Bomb
  • Handheld, throwable bomb that, once thrown, has a rose trail
    • Explodes into roses dealing no damage, but knockback
• Pessimist Cookie
  • A new cookie type that is better than a normal cookie
• Mixed Rose Stew
  • Gives the Rose Marked effect for 12 seconds
• Strong Rose Stew
  • Gives the Rose Marked effect for 24 seconds
• Ink Brush
  • Can shoot out ink projectiles that
    • Will blind entities if it hits them
    • Will leave permanent ink on top of blocks if it hits the top. If it hits the sides or bottom, turns it into an ink block
• Executioner Knife
  • A chance to be dropped from Vindicators
  • Killing entities with it drop their head (Doesn't work for zombies yet)
  • Killing an Evoker with it drops a Dormant Effigy
• Dormant Effigy
  • Useless on its own
• Tainted Effigy
  • Useless on its own
• Rose Effigy
  • Useless on its own
• Rose Altar
  • A block that converts items into temporary buffs
  • Starts at tier 0, putting roses in it increases its tier.
  • When putting a Dormant Effigy in it with a Rose or Tainted Rose, it will give you a Rose Effigy or Tainted Effigy respectively
    • When putting items of specific tiers in the altar, it will give you certain effects similar to the item. It will deal a percentage of damage to the item if it can take damage, if not, it will consume the item. The effects being as follows: haste, strength, absorption, and inkscendant
      • Higher tiers have stronger effects, longer durations, and larger ranges
      • If the tier is at maximum, once the timer effect is over, it will overcharge, creating particles and resetting to tier 0.
  • Differences from the beacon:
    • It is easier to obtain
    • The effect is immediate, so no constant granting of the effect
    • Gives two effects you cannot get from the beacon
    • Is meant to be a mid-game alternative to the beacon before you can actually get it ###Other
• Vindicators have a chance to spawn with an Executioner Knife
• On shift right click (with an empty hand), you can change the shape of ink blocks
• When putting lava on a Quartz Block, it turns into Cracked Quartz. Then, putting a rose on that block and waiting will turn it into Infiltrated Quartz. Finally, when waiting more, it will become a Block of Thorn Rose Quartz which you can shear to get a Block of Rose Quartz
• Right clicking Rose Bushes with shears makes it drop roses

Enchantments / Effects:

• Harvest
  • An enchantment that makes the rose bar increase 2x times than it would normally
• Rose Marked
  • An effect that, when you hurt an entity, it hurts it and you (half the amount of the target) based on how much rose in your bar you have every 1.5 seconds
    • It is avoidable to the target entity if their rose in their bar is greater than or equal to 50%
• Inkscendant
  • Succumb to ink and become a being of it.
  • Can be Rose or normal
    • If Rose Inkscendant, leaves a trail of Rose Ink, otherwise, leaves a trail of Tainted Ink. -Rose Inkscendants have a passive of gaining extra rose when attacking mobs while normal inkscendants have the passive of dealing +2 damage and having a low chance of blinding entities.
  • Take damage in water and rain
  • Can leap in the air
    • When leaping, can shift so when you hit the ground, it bursts into petals, creating knockback -Ink trail IS temporary

If you have some of my planned future mods, extra features will be present. Updates for this mod individually are also planned.

Additionally, if you want to add compatibility with this mod and others, here are important tags that are used:

• painted_in_roses:above_gold_tier_sword (for swords in the Rose Altar)
• painted_in_roses:above_iron_tier_pickaxe (for pickaxes in the Rose Altar)
• painted_in_roses:equal_or_above_iron_tier_chestplate (for chestplates in the Rose Altar, don't ask why the different name)
• minecraft:usables (used for a various of right click things)
• painted_in_roses:usables (same as above, but all the Painted in Roses usables)
• painted_in_roses:excutioner_knife_repair_items (Used for the Executioner Knife)
